I’ve really gotten out of touch with nutrition so I’m getting all my reading material and reeducating myself!
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s such a perfect day out that I’m forgoing the gym and getting my workout here!
I’ve been seeing a lot of Fitspo hate
And I understand where they are coming from.
It’s the same mindset of thinspo. Posting pictures of women we want to look like as motivation.
And yes, fitspo can be just as unhealthy as thinspo, or any other type of body you desire.
Going to extreme measures, for any time of body, is unhealthy.
I keep seeing a lot of sayings along the lines of “I workout so I don’t hate myself” or “Working out is easier then looking in the mirror and seeing something you hate.”
That’s not healthy. That’s very unhealthy thinking.
I think we need to come up with a new term, one that doesn’t focus on going to certain measures to get a certain body.
Sure, it’s fine to post pictures of women you would like to look like, but working out shouldn’t be a punishment. You shouldn’t be working out because you hate yourself. You shouldn’t be restricting everything you eat or keep to a specific calorie number. You shouldn’t feel guilty because you missed a workout or ate unhealthy.
You should love yourself. You should workout because it’s fun! You want some pizza, go ahead! Having three slices of pizza one night isn’t going to hurt you in any way.
Sure, try eat as healthy as you can, workout whenever you can, but if you would rather eat a bag of chips instead of an apple, or nap for four hours instead of going to the gym. Go right ahead.
Love your body, no matter what point in the journey you are. Just starting? Love yourself. Still going? Love yourself. Where you want to be? Love yourself.
Yes, I post pictures of fit women, but positive body imagine and healthy thinking is what I promote. I will not post anything that shams someone’s body or promote working out and eating well as a means for looking good, because there is so much more to it.
Okay, there’s my rant.
Going through old pictures and found this.
By far the best picture I’ve ever gotten of my abs
I will be honest and shed some light.
I am not skinny-minny. Some days I eat too much. Some days I don’t work out as hard as I should.
But, I getting closer to my goals. I can lift heavy now, and I am getting good at it. I can show up the boys. I feel awesome and badass.
Remember that no one is perfect. So when you come on Tumblr and whine about eating something you’re not supposed to, remember that being fit and sexy is a journey, not a destination. You will get there. If you want something that bad, you will make it happen.
Don’t expect to be tight and ripped in a week. Don’t be unrealistic with yourself. Work hard and it will come to you.
Put up some fitspo and motivation on my wardrobe!
Dresses ride up in the back because of your squatalicious ass
